ICE CREAMMMMM - From the Heart Stamps 6.2016 challenge

Summer time is here and zipping by!

This month's challenge at From The Heart Stamps has a perfect image to kick off June - ice cream!

I worked on the 'keep it simple' idea (which isn't easy for me!)

(Had a hard time with the lighting...:( though hope you can see the bright and fun colors I used!)

I duplicated the 3 sundaes! Yay the wonders of digital stamps!

FTH Stamps - Hamlet in the Planter - MAY 2016 challenge

And AGAIN the month is flying by!!!! Wow!

Here to share the newest ADORABLE image from From The Heart Stamps, Pig Wit in the Planter (and specifically it's Hamlet Pig Wit) :D

I LOVE this image and the wonderful sentiments that came with it, including the one here!!!!! SOOOO CUTE!!!!

Made this card for a co-worker's birthday! :D

Colored the image with watercolor pencils! Love the soft look!  Really enjoyed coloring this cute pig with all the beautiful flowers in the barrel!

I loved how the coloring came out and didn't want to overpower it with too many layers. So, I backed it on a piece of pink patterned paper and adhered it to a white standard 3x5 pre-scored card.

I used a small daisy punch to create the flowers at the bottom part of the card. Then added various sequins to the middles and used Gold Stickles as accents (to the flower centers and card's corners).

As a simple final touch, added some white Gelly pen dots around the card and a silver metallic Gelly pen to accent the trim of the image!

Digging Dog - FTH Stamps March 2016 challenge!

Wow, and March just keeps on flying by....oh boy!


Well I am here to share with you my new favorite love from the stamp company, From The Heart Stamps!



My card is for the March monthly challenge using the ridiculously cute image (with more fun sentiments) - Digging Dog!

This stamp reminds me of my pup - as she kind of reminds me of her appearance - though she hasn't torn up our garden, I love tulips and spring flowers - so another reason why I love this image!


The sentiments are funny and cute too and the one I put on the card is one of the ones from the stamp set!!!


I made this card for my sister's pup's birthday and made it as if the card was coming from my pup! :D So, I colored the dog to resemble my pup and using bright colors for the spring and the brown spotted patterned paper tied in nicely I thought with the dug up dirt! :D


Created some fun flowers using two daisy flower punches, plenty of sparkle with the Stickles and some added glossy accents to the flowers, eyes/nose/tongue and ears of the pup and a touch of Gold gelly pen to the dog bone tag on the pup's collar!

Snowman and Cocoa - FTH Stamps Feb. 2016 challenge

Wow, can't believe February is almost over!

Here is my latest from the awesome stamp company - From The Heart Stamps!

My card is for the February monthly challenge using the super adorable image (with great sentiments) - Snowman and Cocoa!

Continuing to work on simple cards. So used techniques or papers that added interest without adding too much detail or bulk to this piece- like using the great floral/snowflake patterned paper from my stash, tore the edges of the cardstock and adding a little more sparkle with the Stickles, gelly pen and rhinestones.

The yellow flower punches I actually punched from white cardstock and colored with a yellow marker, then layered two of them on top of each other for a little more pop and to tie in to the yellow in the coffee mug and add another color to the card than the more dominant blues and purple shades.

From The Heart Stamps - Cozy Kittens - January 2016 Challenge

It's hard to photograph sequins and sparkles and I do love to use them on my cards!

This first photo shows a bit more of the sparkle and shine - the gold and red of the sequins, the gold and silver detail in the two scarves and even the gold stickles on the sequins!

This next photo shows a little bit of detail of the white 'fur' I tried to create for the white kitten. :)

Holly & Olive - The East Wind! :D

Hi!

I entered my initial coloring of the lovely Holly & Olive image into the Kit&Clowder Advent Calendar Colouring Challenge - East Wind!

This is my overall card that I made with the coloring and happy with how it turned out! So fun to work with! :D

 

I went with non-traditional holiday/Christmas colors and went for more cool colors. :D

For some reason my photo isn't showing up as crisp as it needs to be and I've tried it several times..:( Though hope you can still see that I added purple half pearls and purple rhinestones to the corners of the card, small clear rhinestones to edges of the patterened paper, the lady's eyes. Also added Diamond Stickles to the snowflake punch.

Despite my photo issues...I hope you like her! :) I was very happy with how she turned out. :D

A few other details about the card - added Silver Gelly pen to the lightbulb ends, to the stripes on her leggings, around the scallop ended of the light blue cardstock and randomly around the edges of the card). :D

Glossy accents are on the two small lightbulbs, large bulb she's sitting on, to the bow in her hair and to her eyes. Added Silver Stickles to the other two lightbulbs.

Used white gelly pen to accent the fur on her coat and shoes! :D

Little Mug Bear!

Hi!

Gerda Steiner Designs is such a cute stamp company! I  I don't believe I've shared one of her designs on my blog before, so here ya go!

Di's Digi Stamps Cute and Cuddly Challenge

Isn't this such a cute image!?

Hmmm...looks like the glossy accented mug got a little lost in this pic...so going to try and show it again in the pic below 

Used an A2  size kraft cardstock card for the base.

Colored the bear with colored pencils and paper pieced his scarf and added some silver gelly pen to add some more sparkle for a festive feel.   Added some Glossy Accents to his nose and the mug too! Used some watercolor pencil to the bottom of the image so it looks like he's standing on cold ground (perhaps some ice!)

Backed the white cardstock image onto some textured red cardstock and added some small rhinestones to the corners.

Used some patterned paper that resembled snowflakes for the background and adhered it to the kraft cardstock base, added some silver stickles around the page and to the red foam candy canes too!

The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Black ink, edged the white cardstock with some red ink and then added some silver stickles to the sentiment too for more fun! :)

I really liked how this card turned out (simple, yet festive)!

I have a lot of Sweet Pea Stamps (SPS) images in my collection, both rubber and digital stamps.
So, I chose one of each format and created two birthday cards for loved ones to share with you today! :)

The first card is by Ching Chou Kuik, Carousel Allure 

I have the rubber stamp version and used it for this creation. Though if you are interested in this image, it's still available as a digital stamp in the SPS store!

 I loved this Ching Chou Kuik image (CCK) the first time I saw it in the SPS store!

I felt it would be perfect for a birthday card and especially for my cousin, who is like a sister to me! :)

The image has such elements of elegance, fun and celebration all in one. Perfect for my cousin!

So I tried to keep with that feeling and keep it a little bit simpler too. 

• 5x7 cream card base, added patterned paper and a layer of cardstock.
• Colored rubber stamped image with Prismacolor colored pencils, watercolor and soft core, with a few parts in marker.
• Added dimension/fun elements:  Gold Stickles, Gelly pen, Glossy Accents, Happy Birthday confetti, Recollections paper flowers and some added pearls/rhinestones. 

 Hope you can see that I added Stickles to the 'Happy Birthday' word confetti, part of the carousel globe and glossy accents to the lady's eyes too! :D

I loved the uniqueness of this image and thought it would be perfect for a girl's birthday card!

I have a dear college friend who's daughter and I share a birthday, so I try hard to pick out an image each year that I think she'll enjoy!

I liked the birthday fun elements of the Birthday confetti so I added them to this card as well!

I didn't want to make the colors too bold, so I thought pastel with some pops of darker shades and a little more fun dimension would be great for her card this year! :)

Not sure if you can see it...but I used metallic shimmer crayons in the mermaid top/body/tail! :D 

• 5x7 white card base, patterned paper and a few layers of cardstock.
• Colored digital image mostly with Crayola crayons
• Added dimension/fun elements:  Silver Gelly pen, Glossy Accents, Happy Birthday confetti, Recollections rhinestones and some green fabric ribbon that reminded me of seaweed! :D
• Added number stickers to indicate her age this year! :)

Halloween Tea Party 2015

Love this image! :D

Such a fun and unique image to color by Sweet Pea Stamps (artist, Enys Guerrero, the Halloween Tea Party image.)  !

Colored with Prismacolored pencils, distress/Tombow markers, and some accents with gold and silver gel pens. Added a little gold stickles too to the pumpkin face and to the star in the Halloween sentiment (from Hampton Art clear stamps set). Added a little more Glossy Accents to the star in the sentiment as well.

Backed the digital image on a couple layers of purple cardstock. Then layered some black/grey patterned papers and more pink cardstock to a 5x7 size white card base.

The Happy Halloween sentiment stamped with Memento black ink on colored yellow gold cardstock. Cut out and adhered to the upper part of the card.

So fun to color! Went with a  little less 'typical Halloween' for the Alice witch and tried to stay a little more 'typical colors' with pumpkin and leaves, and candy corn.

Planning to give this to my great friend for Halloween! Hope she loves it and you all enjoy it too!

(It was hard to take this photo today...but hope it shows up alright just the same).

Day of the Dead - Las Calaveras 2015

So excited to share this beautiful image by Aurora Wings for the Day of the Dead challenge!

This is one of my favorites! It's the Day of the Dead style image, Las Calaveras!

I felt like doing something a little different and chose some 'not so typical' color combos for me (greens, yellows, grays) and keeping with a little simpler card by using fewer colors. 

Used Prismacolored pencils and distress markers and gold gel pen for a few accents too. :)

Backed the image on black and gray cardstock and adhered to a 4" x 5.5" size kraft card (which I guess you can't tell because it's covered by the cardstock/image. ;) )

Such a fabulous image and fun to color! :) Had a hard time taking photos today :( so hope you can still see the detail well enough.

Romanza Flowers card (for my Mom!) :)

Hello all,

So, I didn't get this card in time for the Aurora Wings 'Mommy and Me' challenge, but it's still a card to enter into the AW Challenge #14 'Flowers'! :D

This base card is a 5x7.

Used the beautiful Aurora Wings Romanza image and colored her in Distress ink and other markers.  Enjoyed coloring in both earthy/muted and colorful shades.

Cut out the lovely image and added her to the brown polka dot patterned paper.

Gold Stickles and Distress marker were used for further embellishment and added the sentiment from 2CuteInk, from the Mother's Day digi.

The very small to small/medium size added flowers were neutral shades.  I could have kept them that way, but I thought it was more fun trying to color them to match the colors I used for the beautiful Romanza lady! :)  The little bit larger pink flowers with the brown pearl embellishment are Prima flowers.

(Plus, I do plan to give this card to my Mom for this year for Mother's Day! :) (Hope she loves it as much as I loved making it for her!) <3

This photo is a better at showing the overall card/detail:

Though, I think this photo shows the gold Stickles a bit better, especially in the bouquet! :D 

((Hmmm...I am not sure if my photos are as clear as I'd like...;( Sorry about that! I hope to fix that  for further posts!)

Flowers are always a lovely token to show someone you care and what better way than for a wonderful Mom on Mother's Day! :)

I always love to add flowers and glitter to my work and this lovely piece is no exception! :)

Sherri Baldy's Fancy Pants Besties,, Tea Time, Image 378 with Blue Patterned Papers!

Hi all!

The weather is fantastic today - in the 80's and loving it at the beginning of May!!!! :)

With that, I am here to share the super cute and happy image, Fancy Pants Tea Time image 378 by Sherri Baldy!

I'm going to enter this card into the My Besties Challenge, #9 Blue Designer Patterned Paper

and also made this card to give to a friend for her 40th birthday! (Hope she likes it!!!)

Colored this super adorable image with Crayola Crayons, Distress Inks and Gold Gelly pen.

Blended the Crayola Crayons with baby oil to smooth out the image a little more.

Used the sentiment from Sweet Pea Stamps and embellished a little more with the handwritten 40's on it and gold accents.

I had various small pieces of the blue papers, Papermania Burleigh Blue paper pack, from other projects and was inspired to make up the background with them from the cute girl's bow on her hat! 

Also, inked the edges of all the papers on the project with Salty Ocean distress ink.

I wanted the image and patterned papers to be the focus, so didn't add any further layers.

Pretty happy with how it turned out! :)

Dark Goblin Queen! :)

This Goblin Queen digi was an awesome freebie I got from SimplyBStamps!


I submitted my entry into the Goblin Queen contest in the SBS Facebook group. 




Part of the rules were to choose either Light or Dark for creating the look of the image.




Figured the Dark side would be a little bit out of my comfort zone when it came to creating cards, so I went that route!




So much fun coloring and making up the card!


Printed her on copy or bond paper (not sure which now...:( ) and started to color the Queen using some more 'ordinary' supplies, like red gel pen and black ink pen for her hair and part of her dress, pencil on the other part of her dress, her eyelids, and for the little goblin! Also, used green highlighter marker for the Queen and goblin eye color! :)


Also this is my first attempt at 'highlighting' hair! :)  So please be kind! :)


Then moved on to use some Prismacolor pencil, green for her skin and purple for the rest of her dress. Loved how saturated the colored pencil got as I used some water to blend it.


The wings I colored in green colored pencil (Crayola brand I believe) then added gold Stickles! :)


After the image itself was colored, I knew it needed a little more stability then just the paper she was printed on.  So, I cut her out and glued her to a 110 lb. piece of white cardstock, cut that out again then adhered to the red cardstock.


The rest of background cardstock, patterned pieces and rhinestones were in my stash and I had fun creating the rest of the card backed onto a pre-scored White 5x7 card!

Added some final touches by adding gold Gelly pen squiggles/dots for interest and since I thought there was a little too much white space from the cut out portions of thinner paper and cardstock on the image, I added gold Gelly pen lines around the edges for extra pop! :)

Steampunks!!!! :D

Snowed a little more overnight.......blah! Though it wasn't as bad as it could've been! (Thank goodness!)

Onto more happy thoughts.....

These are my first two Steampunks from Simply B Stamps! Love them! :)

Colored them both up and made them into cards for some challenges:

First card to describe a little more about is Gwendolyn!
She is one of many favorites of the Steampunks! 
The Tuesday Outlawz challenge this week had a 'tic tac toe' format.  I chose the Pink, Yellow and Orange colors and had to add gemstone(s) to my creation.

I decided to do a mix of light and muted shades of these three colors.  Used crayons, markers and colored pencils to color Gwendolyn. 

Her skin color I used a colored pencil, colored her hair in markers and a couple shades of pink crayons for her dress, with a few accents with pink marker and some pink stickles added to the ribbons on her dress.

Her leggings, for instance, I colored in a sun yellow crayon, then colored over it with a yellow/orange distress marker and rubbed any excess ink with a cotton swab.  Then colored her boots with a few different shades of orange crayon.

Though, I wasn't sure that I liked how those parts turned out, so I added yellow Stickles to the leggings and a distress orange Stickles to the boots.  I really think it came out great! :)

Layered various types of cardstock and papers  (textured cardstock, construction paper, and patterned paper) to make up the background and put it onto a pre-scored white card.

Then I cut her out and glued her to the front. 

For extra sparkle and fun (and to follow the challenge) added some rhinestone gems to the corners of the papers and some pink and orange Stickles to parts of the cardstock.

Now to the next lovely Steampunk - Bella the Vampire! :)

Knowing that I was going to enter her into the monochromatic challenge, I chose my favorite color of purple to try a full creation of purple! <3

Went through my stash to collect as many purple items as I could, various shades of purple cardstock, smooth and textured, flowers, brads, and rhinestones.

Colored Bella with crayons and colored pencils and then close cut the image.  Handwrote the sentiment (with squiggly lines ;) ) onto a small piece of light purple cardstock  and glued them both to the front of the card. 

This was such a fun card to create! :)
